The Mona Reels latest single is "Don't Make a Promise." Instead of the usual inward facing home recording, it's got a dozen hip and swinging collaborators bending it sideways.

"Our parents would take us to Grange Hall dances all around. We weren't teenagers yet; when we got tired we'd just fall asleep while the music played. Afterwards our father would bring home the musicians and they'd play all night."

Ô, a tribute to the music of Ô Paon / Geneviève Castrée (AKA Woelv) has been lovingly compiled posthumously by Nick Rennis.

The fine folks at Domino Records have made all six Beat Happening albums available as phonograph records once again.
