Dub It Down!
Britain's Hot Chip released their new single "Down" earlier this year. Like Cupid it shot through the heart with arrow point accuracy. Uhhh. Dance floor ready floating on air. They were not satisfied with total groovaciousness and requested all-access to the Dub Narcotic Studio treatment on "Down". What happened next can not be quantified via graduated cylinder; Selector Dub Narcotic melodica wax & wane inside and out: "Dumb It Down" via the world-wide web. Selector Dub Narcotic "Dumb It Down" is one of three "Down" remixes Hot Chip has added to their portfolio, the other two gems (not quite as...
Karl Blau: The Best (so far)!
Last weekend Michael Reitmulder of the Seattle Times listed Karl Blau's new LP Scream Time (Spiral Valley) as one of "The best Washington albums of 2022 (so far)" (Scream Time is the name of Karl's latest album on the LP format; it's known as Love & Harm to CD and digital download/streaming consumers). Karl Blau, Scream Time...
Dumb It Down!

One of a passel of "Down" remixes, "Dumb It Down" was set astray along with radically diverse takes on the affair by Sworn Virgins and Nyra. Selector Dub Narcotic, Memphis, TN. by Jamie Harmon "Down" is excerpted from the upcoming Hot Chip album Freakout/Release, out August 19. The dance floor knows all, sees all; yet somehow Hot Chip have managed to sneak past all monitors sans hall pass to animate the public address...
Ghost Bitch in Melbourne!
[Editor's note: Stasia Aaa, who records and performs as Ghost Bitch, relocated to Melbourne, Australia (AKA "Naarm") earlier this month (her relocation was delayed for two years by the global pandemic). What follows is an update on her activities since leaving downtown Olymp] by Stasia Aaa I have finally made it to Naarm/Melbourne! Here’s my travelogue… Ghost Bitch played our first gig at Nighthawks [see above photog - Ed.] with Hearts & Rockets, who are a very fun band and wonderful people! They closed their set with a Bikini Kill cover much to my amusement as an Olympia transplant....
