A four song, 10" EP by The Vultures featuring: Good Thing, Something New, I'll Kill That Girl, I Go Ape

Part of the vibrant Edinburgh underground music scene in the late 1980s, the same happening world that hatched Shop Assistants and Jesse Garon & The Desperadoes. The Vultures were gone almost before they had arrived, releasing just a solitary 12-inch single on the famed Narodnik label (the ‘Good Thing’ EP was NRK 006 – the final release on that classic imprint).

There is not a lot of material available – but now we have this four-song blast for Radio 1’s early-evening show in June 1988. None of them reaches the two-minute limit, and only ‘Good Thing’ has been previously released in any format.

As such, this is an unmissable document of a much-loved era, sounding as fresh today as it did in the late 80s … plus there’s a cover version of the Dickies’ ‘You Drive Me Ape (You Big Gorilla)’, here retooled as ‘I Go Ape’.

And that’s not all – vinyl buyers will also receive a download featuring all the songs from that classic 12-inch alongside the usual array of images and sleeve notes from Janie Nicoll.
