D+

D+ specializes in the kind of backwoods intellectual heartfelt rockin' guitar rhythm and ballad that is homegrown in the Northwest. Bret Lunsford (Beat Happening) founded D+ when he moved back to his hometown of Anacortes, Wash., in the late '80s.

D+ has had a floating membership that has included various Anacortes luminaries. After banging guitars together for eight years, they are finally getting around to releasing a record. This album has Bret accompanied by Phil Elvrum (Microphones, Mount Eerie), Karl Blau and Bronwyn Holm. It is an ode to super 8, dark room psychosis and the true sounds of liberty. Recorded at Dub Narcotic Studio with Calvin Johnson, co-released by and Knw-Yr-Own.
