Bears Make Art is a tender and imaginative collection of songs by Ashley Eriksson, songwriter, animator, and founding member of LAKE. Recorded at home with cassette 4-track and DAW, these songs explore dreams and daydreams as meditations on existence.
Blending piano, drum machine, melodic bass lines and Eriksson’s intimate dry close-mic’d vocals, the album feels stripped-down, intimate, and sincere.
“Bears Make Art” – The whimsical title track inhabits the creative expression of bears and humans.
“A B B A” – Based on a dream of being a back-up singer for the famous Swedish band, ABBA
“Greatly Appreciated” – An old sheepish love song that was featured in the cartoon “Adventure Time” with different lyrics.

All songs written and performed by Ashley Eriksson, except “Get Lost”, with lyrics and melody written by Ruth Allison. Kirstin Clauson, Joelle Berry, and Ian Brown sing background vocals.
