The Softies have been back in the news, playing shows along the West Coast (including The Umbrella's album release party); they're scheduled for Glas-Goes Pop! festival July 26 and there are even whispers of new recordings (eeek!). The Softies recorded three albums with K, the most recent of which, Holiday in Rhode Island [KLP119] (released in 2000) has been out of print on the long-playing (LP) format for over 15 years. That is extremely bogus - - - but the good news is Holiday in Rhode Island is back on LP May 31 - - - Hallelujah!
This is exciting because the peeps been banging on the door of The K Mail Order Dept. demanding The Softies on vinyl. Prayers be answered. One may PRE-ORDER The Softies, Holiday in Rhode Island [KLP119] on LP from The K Mail Order Dept., to be shipped by April 30, one month ahead of when the rest of humanity has access to it. Get in on that.
The two earlier K albums by The Softies, Winter Pageant [KLP061] and It's Love [KLP043] will be available on the LP format later in the year.
