Monday evening, for one night only, Olympia's master garage foragers, Morgan & the Organ Donors, teamed up with Florence, Alabama's premiere ghost music purveyours, Pine Hill Haints, to rock the basement of Westside's ABC House. The foundations of rock'n'roll shook. The knees quaked. The dance floor perspired. the socks were knocked off.
The new Morgan & the Organ Donor's album M.O.D.s [KLP285/PRNL046] has barely had a moment to slow it's spin upon your turntable with hits galore "Freeze the Time," "Letter" and "So Dark."
Pine Hill Haints have been touring about with several recent recordings offered up from as many record labels including a stellar collection entitled The Song Companion of a Lonestar Cowboy (Single Lock Records).
When exactly will this pairing occur again? With Morgan & the Organ Donors heading to the Mid-South this autumn to participate in Gonerfest, a possible re-combine is possible, with Mississippi's Hartle Road added for a triple threat. Who really knows?
