There is a new album by Mirah in the world, Dedication (Double Double Whammy/Absolute Magnitude Recordings). It is everything you need from a Mirah album. Firstly, that voice. When you hear that voice, tremors. Secondly, those melodies. Mirah has made music for decades and there has been change, growth and all that, but her melodies continue to entrance, take flight, and take you with them. Thirdly, the insights. Mirah has become a mom and lives on the other side of the country and the world has changed a lot since her last album Understanding [KLP268]. All that life-type stuff is rolled into Mirah's powerful songwriting muscles and then comes out and we get to experience it along with her on many can't-stop-listening-to-it songs like "Stumbling," "Catch My Breath," "Hummingbird" and "The Bride of Frankenstein."
Mirah, Dedication.
