There is a new Glo-Worm single out today "Tilt-a-Whirl (WHFS Session);" it is one of four bonus songs recorded January, 1995 by Dave Marsh for his Dave’s Garage radio show on WHFS-FM that will be included on the DELUXE DIGITAL version of Glimmer [KLP054], out September 19.
Glo-worm formed in Washington D.C., summer 1993 and features the voice of Pam Berry accompanied by Dan Searing (drums, percussion) and Terry Banks (guitar). Previously, Pam sang in Belmondo, The Pines and Black Tambourine. Terry played in Tree Fort Angst and a stint in English underground combo St. Christopher. Dan had been in Whorl. During the course of Glo-Worm’s two-and-a-half-ish year lifespan, the band released three 7” EPs (issued by the Somersault, Slumberland and K labels) and had songs on a couple of compilations, all leading up to the Glimmer [KLP054] album, which compiled the 7” EPs (adding a cover of The Cure’s ‘Friday I’m in Love’) and was released by K in 1996.
Glo-Worm themselves have this to say about "Tilt-a-Whirl (WHFS Session)" - - - 'With vocal and percussion performances that are positively dripping in elegant restraint, fancy-schmancy diminished guitar chords, and a doleful, waltzy rhythm, there's no two ways about it: this song was incredibly classy -- but you should hear the version on the soon-to-be-released Glimmer LP, it's (somehow) even classier.'
Glo-Worm Glimmer [KLP054] is out on the LP format for the first time ever October 24, 2025. It is available for PRE-ORDER now from The K Mail Order Dept.
