Above: Fitz of Depression encounter KARP while touring through the United States of America, somewhere, sometime in the mid-'90s.
"You and Me" is exactly the pummeling hardcore punk Fitz of Depression do best: relentless, spirited, over the top. It's an excerpt from the last recording session by this Olympia punk institution, their new album Epilogue E.P. [KLP299], which hits record stores January 31, 2025.
Fitz of Depression hold a sacred place in the lexicon of Olympia folklore: the crossroads of all things Hessian, everything hardcore, punk, pop, new wave, metal, heavy and hopeful. Revered within the city limits, often misunderstood beyond them, they played every party in Olympia for over twenty years.
"You and Me" is their latest single, out today (You can listen HERE). This from the band's last recording session, it remained unfinished at the time of singer/guitarist Mikey Dee's death. At the instigation of drummer Jerry Zeigler, bassist Ryan Von Bargen took over vocal duties, quite ably as you will hear. A tribute to Mikey for sure!
The new Fitz of Depression album Epilogue E.P. [KLP299] is available on vinyl now from The K Mail Order Dept.
