Feeling Figures, "Doors Wide Open"!

Above: Feeling Figures' new video "Doors Wide Open" is out today!

This ver day Post-Trash debuts a new Feeling Figures video "Doors Wide Open," proclaiming they "write really great songs, the type you can listen to forever, the kind that implant themselves in your mind." This is true. It's nice to know someone notices the compelling nature of Feeling Figures and their guitar-bash minstrelsy.

"Doors Wide Open" is the latest Feeling Figures single to transcend expectations. Singer/guitarist Kay Moon describes "Doors Open Wide" thusly: “Originally inspired by a stringline from a British reality show morphed into guitar chords, this song was written in the blink of an eye yet speaks to centuries of inequality. A feminist reflection on doors opening and closing based solely on appearances and societal projections." You see? This song not just has a good beat to which one may dance. It also opens doors to exciting new worlds. View the lithe and frolicky "Doors Wide Open" video.

This new single is a taste of the upcoming Feeling Figures album, Everything Around You [PRNL054/KLP296], due in the autumn. You'll prob want to PRE-ORDER an LP copy of Everything around You from The K Mail Order Dept. (PRE-ORDERS ship by August 15).

The utter lack of affectation on Everything Around You may or may not be considered a selling point (affectation seems pretty huge — almost always) but Feeling Figures’ rock’n’roll atom smashery is nothing short of astonishing. Maybe there will be a better record [this year] — perhaps two or three, even.  But for now, this is the band to beat.”  – Gerard Cosloy
