Dummy, Dumb EPs!

Dummy, Dumb EPs!

Above: we're seeing Dummy in a whole new light, Dumb EPs!

When Brion Gysin died in a Hollywood motel room a tape was found in his possession, which was posthumously released under his name entitled “No Pool, No Pets.” It took many years and numerous bong hits to realize this was actually a composition by his friend Paul Bowles, as they often sent recordings back and forth to each other, and frequently wore each others clothes. OK now with that in mind, consider Dummy, Dumb EPs [PRNL063/KCS308] in the same way, like tapes or letters crossed through time or found in an ashtray. This band is a future touchstone making music that is uniquely their own: Dummy! Give a listen to the new Dummy single from Dumb EPs, "Oceanographer."

Dummy is more than a "rock band," it is a new take on West Coast living. Residing in Los Angeles, Calif., Dummy gather all the dirty laundry of society's unsung and give it a good words-and-music rinsing via their angst-ridden bubblegum. Comprised of Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O’Dell, and Joe Trainor; that's a full-on Dummy basket. Dumb EPs [PRNL063/KCS308] collects batches of their flesh searing pop boggles (fourteen songs in all) into one handsome cassette tape, out August 29.
