Burl play Anacortes Music History exhibit!

Above: Burl play this Sunday, December 7 at the Anacortes Museum as part of the Music of Anacortes exhibit.

A comprehensive exhibit, Music of Anacortes, takes a long view of musical development on Fidalgo Island, Washington, starting with the work of the Coast Salish people who have lived in area since time immemorial and to this day. The exhibit pays close attention to the local, self-made music of the past five decades. Many of the artists involved in K since its inception have roots and connections to Anacortes and Fidalgo Island: Beat Happening, The Few, The Blow, Karl Blau, D+, The Crabs, Pounding Serfs, Mirah, The Microphones, Gravel, Mount Eerie.

According to Anacortes Museum director Bret Lunsford, rather than have an opening party the exhibit will celebrate with a series of events featuring live local music. the first of these Music of Anacortes celebratory events is this Sunday, December 7, featuring Burl, a duo comprised of Bryan Elliott and Bob Vokes, two music-making peeps who have been churning the underground Anacortes music scene since the 1980s.
