The new comedic series Reservation Dogs uses 20 seconds of the Beat Happening song "Our Secret" in this week's episode, "What about Your Dad". Reservation Dogs tells the story of four indigenous teenagers living on a reservation in Oklahoma. It was developed and produced by Native American film maker Sterlin Harjo, who himself grew up on a reservation in Oklahoma. "What about Your Dad" is the fourth episode of the the first season.
"Our Secret" was originally released on Beat Happening's debut 45rpm in 1984 backed with "What's Important". "Our Secret" also appears on the first Beat Happening album, Beat Happening [KLP001].
The scene in Reservation Dogs that includes "Our Secret" is too heartbreaking to describe, you'll just have to watch the episode.
