LAKE - - - it's been too long since their life-affirming album Let's Build a Roof [KLP213] was available on the life-affirming long playing (LP) phonograph record format. This Friday (April 19) that all changes when phonograph record emporiums the world over will offer up Let's Build a Roof once more as an LP, and for the first time they'll have it as a cassette tape, too. Wahoo. For this week of re-release we're highlighting the newly remastered version of "Christmas Island," familiar to many from it's use on the television series Adventure Time.
Originally released in 2009, Let's Build a Roof was produced by Karl Blau at Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, Washington. In the last few months three choice remixes of songs from the album have been made available including "Gravel" remixed by Nich Wilbur at The Unknown in Anacortes, Washington; "Don't Give up" mixed by Daniel Ledwell and "Loose Wind" mixed by Stephen Steinbrink. if one purchases Let's Build a Roof from Bandcamp, these special remixes are included with the album, along with two additional bonus songs "Christmas Island (Early Mix)" and "Let's Get Together."
