Yesterday afternoon I went downstairs to videotape a cover of Ruby Fray‘s “Mint Ice Cream” by The Hive Dwellers + Ashley Eriksson & Eli Moore (LAKE) that will be used in the future as a bonus for all the folks who pre-order the new The Hive Dwellers record, & my dang camera kept messing up! Luckily, Ashley lent me her fancy video camera & the whole thing was a smashing success.
Afterwards, I was kind of annoyed with my camera & trying to figure out why it would not take video… & naturally it started to work when it wasn’t being put on the spot. So I cruised back into Dub Narcotic Studio & captured The Hive Dwellers practicing “Tell Tale Heart,” one of their newest tunes on which will be appearing on KLP241 Hewn From The Wilderness. They leave on tour tomorrow for one month, catch ‘em in your town playing “Lynch the Swan” or “Get In!”
