We are so excited to announce COLOURS, the forthcoming solo release of LAKE darling Ashley Eriksson. Known to most of the world as writer of the Adventure Time closing theme, “Island Song,” Ashley is a modern renaissance woman. She plays with multiple projects, paints, travels, dances, dreams, composes poetry on the piano and engineers and records her own albums — your basic dreamboat. A beautiful, warming record (and Ashley’s seventh solo release), Colours went up for pre-order in our shop this week and the first song debuted on Rookie Mag this morning!

ABOUT THE PRE-ORDER: (WHICH YOU CAN DO HERE) We ship out new records a month before you can buy them in stores, meaning your pre-order will ship on June 16th! The first 35 orders placed will receive one of these beautiful hand-painted water colors. Each painting is unique, hand numbered and signed by Ashley herself!
To celebrate the release, we collaborated with Ashley on a video series, where she plays each song from Colours on public pianos around Olympia, WA. The first video, “Humming In The Dark,” premiered on Rookie Magazine this morning, and was filmed on a sunny afternoon at our beloved Olympia Timberland Library by Ashley’s husband (and LAKE collaborator) Eli Moore:
The next video for “Why Are You So Helpless?,” shot at Olympia’s punk house The Speakeasy, will debut on our blog Wednesday, May 22nd.
