Memories w/ Skrill Meadow, Love Cop Friday 7/12

Friday, July 12th, 2013

Get ready to swoon, Olympia. Three of our Gnar Tapes buddies are playing on Friday, July 12th! Hometown hero Markly Morrison one-man band project Skrill Meadow will be playing along with Portland’s LOVE COP and the Memories!

In between preparations for LAKE‘s forthcoming release The World Is Real [KLP 246], Skrill Meadow has been spreading the good news of lo-fi country-western-gospel hymns. Skrill Meadow’s latest, Spirituals, was released Markly’s label Brown Interior Music and is available now in the K Distro.

Filling out the bill are LOVE COP, who have already released two albums, Eat Yr Heart Out and LOVE/COP this year. The Memories, whose Love Is The Law LP will drop on July 23 on BURGER RECORDS. About this time last year the Memories’ song “Higher” was featured on the Love Songs For Lamps mixtape curated by our ever-busy balladeer Calvin Johnson for the music issue of The Believer magazine. The Huffington Post also included the Memories’ “I’m Easy” in its “Best Songs of 2013” list.

If you’re looking for the quintessential Oly summer show, look no further. Bring some bucks for our touring buddies and pick up hella tapes from Skrill Meadow, LOVE COP and the Memories.

Let ya tape rock ’til ya tape pops and see you at the show. It’s a gonna be a Gnar-ty!
