In February, 2014 K sponsored a video contest, the winner of which won a free day of recording, mixing or mastering at our Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, Washington. The contest was simple: entrants sent a video of their work, which was posted on the K “You Tube” Channel. For the first two weeks of the month the videos were available for viewing; the video with the most views by February 14 was declared the winner.

There were 31 entrants to the contest, all ver entertaining. We would like to thank all 31 for taking the time to participate in the Dub Narcotic Studio video contest: Bumblemee, Portron Portron, Get Mom, Dr. Fate, Nathan Gibson, Leather Bones, Dog Legs, Eshniner Forest, Skin Conditions, miniMatthew, Shoreham Airport, Mike & Jenyr, Fast Heart Mart, Pee Pee, the Pinheads, Shack T, Cemetarys, Electric Organic, In Corruption, Stuporhero, the Decoys, los Devitos, Miss Yvonne, Gela, Follies & Vices, Rogers Campbell, Hope and Anchor, Old Age, Fictions, Moon by You, and Thunderwerld.

The most viewed was Moon by You from Portland, OR, a video for their song “Right on Pyramid” (posted above).

The next two most viewed videos were the Pinheads “Lucky Egg”:

and Dr. Fate “Cut Short, the Nurturer”:

This wouldn’t be a K contest unless we also paid special attention to the videos with the least views:

Rogers Campbell “Demo Reel 2013”:

Hope and Anchor “Siberia”:

Shoreham Airport “Columbo vs. Shoreham Airport”:

Really, all of the entrants provided were worth a watch. No lie. You can see them all in this DUB NARCOTIC STUDIO VIDEO PLAYLIST.

Thanks for viewing!
