This Beat Happening video was directed by Patrick Maley (of Yo-Yo Studio and record label) for the song “Indian Summer” from the Jamboree [KLP002] album. It was shot on super 8 film.
The journeys taken by Bret, Heather and Calvin through downtown Olympia, Washington to Sylvester Park are lovingly detailed by FIB magazine editor Jimmy Sharpe in his Olympia Walking Tour fanzine.
Great video. My own memory of Olympia in the early nineties plays like a Super 8 film, too! I’m pretty sure I remember riding a yellow mechanical race horse inside Yard Birds when I was three or four, but I could be wrong.
