Wimps LP coverHave you noticed directly to the write of this weblog are the words “Sign up for K News”? Have you done as instructed and slipped your electronic mail address into the slot provided? If you did you regularly receive a bulletin with all sorts of chunky facts like tour updates and the latest additions to the K Mail Order Dept. For instance, the edition of K News sent out this week has word of two ver significant releases from our Friends & Neighbors, Wimps Repeat LP (End of Time) and Bam! Bam! Golden Haze 2  7″ EP (Happy Happy Birthday to Me).

The debut album by Seattle’s Wimps, Repeat, is also the debut of a new record label to join the flock, End of Time. Wimps punk it in an almost hardcore almost pop all-the-time Wimps style that is bright and compelling. End of Time will soon be dishing up scads of significant 45s and LPs by Northwest and Midwest super punks united by the grace of their delinquency.

Bam! Bam! cover imageBam! Bam! reside in Oakland, CA. and have created quite a stir with their own brand of rockin’ crashpop. The Golden Haze 2 7″ EP is their second record, their second delightful 7″ slice of musikal stop-motion. On “Medicine” they are joined by guest vocalist Calvin Johnson (that’s me!), not a bad mixture of psychologies. Happy Happy Birthday to Me of Athens, GA. was kind enough to make this available to the masses, unwashed or otherwise. We’re quite pleased to consider them a label Friend and musical Neighbor.

The point of the story is if you are a subscriber to the K News, you would already know about Wimps and Bam! Bam! cause you read about them ages ago. Subscribe it up already, Bucko.
