The Neo Boys will be featured twice on KBOO-FM in the weeks leading up to their Nov. 10 Sooner or Later [KLP242] gala event. KBOO-FM is Portland, Oregon’s community radio station. Always supportive of the local music scene, they twice hosted Neo Boys during their ever-so-brief existence as a band (1978-1983). With the release of the Neo Boys retrospective double album on K, Sooner or Later [KLP242], KBOO is continuing their enthusiastic endorsement of Neo Boys with two special shows.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, KBOO will air an extensive interview conducted by Erin Yanke on her Life During Wartime show (10:00PM PDT). The interview was recorded last July while all the members of the band were in town, including drummer Pat Baum (currently residing in Mexico) and guitarist Meg Hentges (now living in Northern California). Erin Yanke took advantage of this rare opportunity to get in-depth with the band over their history, influences, ups and downs.
The following Wednesday, Nov. 6, KBOO studio will be the site of a live broadcast celebrating Sooner or Later [KLP242] on the local music show Drinking from Puddles, hosted by Brandon Lieberman and Callie Danger (8:00 PM PST). This will feature live interviews with Neo Boys members Kim Kincaid, KT Kincaid, Pat Baum and other relevant individuals. There will also be live performances by several of the female artists performing at the Nov. 10 Crystal Ballroom gala the following weekend, including Toody Cole, the Ghost Ease, Monica Nelson, the Vandies and Newman/Schonberg/Rayna.
