New K Buttons, designed by Jill P. Buttons!

The talented Jill Pucciarelli designed a new K Shield for us, and so we went ahead and made a bunch of buttons.  You need a new button?  Buttons, anyone? Yes?  I thought so.  Behold, glorious glorious buttons.

Get A Little Something Special from Tara Jane Oneil

The clouds are parting, spring is here, and I FINALLY get to play the new TJO single “Sirena for you! Click here to safely stream it from our Tumblr, preferably while you’re sitting in the sunshine.

Preorder the Sirena 7″ from the shop and it comes with a free download of “Bee Leave” (a Cher cover, if you can believe it), from TJO.  If you love “Sirena” and want to own the song RIGHT NOW, you can buy it as a single from us too, because well, why not?

Let the hazy warm days of SPRING commence!

Pith-Up in the shop now!

Ruby Fray‘s first release, Pith, is finally up in the shop!  The first half of this record is poppy and eclectic, the second half stretches out into the realm of outer space.  Emily Beanblossom is a keeper.  Listen to teaser-clips, download the record or order the vinyl (with free shipping) at our lovely shop, http://shop.krecs.com/collections/all/products/klp239.

Look for her interview with Joel Brazzel on the weblog this week.  It’ll be a good one!

The Hive Dwellers & The Curious Mystery Unite In NYCThe Hive Dwellers & The Curious Mystery Unite In NYC

The Hive Dwellers hit the road for five weeks of non-stop touring tomorrow, bringing the boogie to all ages crowds across this great country.  They’re playing 29 shows (including some rad out-of-the-way spots, like Milledgeville, GA, the resting place and former home of the great writer Flannery O’Connor), including a handful of shows with The Curious Mystery, who are touring their way to their Ace Hotel residency in NYC right now!

I present you with The Hive Dweller touring schedule (look for their dates with the CMers, marked in blue).  Calvin will have copies of the Hive Dwellers CD on him you may of heard us buzzing about, and as always, he’ll bring his dancing shoes.

(Oh yes, here’s a video Joel took after stumbling in on a Hive Dwellers jam session…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gENKyfosJo)

Kendl Plays in San Francisco

San Francisco!  Kendl Winter is playing some amazing shows this weekend.  The Book Zoo made the most beautiful flier (pictured above) for her show on Friday (3/23),  and she’s playing a banjo solo in the Contra Costra Wind Symphony with her father, Denis, this coming Saturday.  Check out all of her dates on our show calendar.

And if you haven’t heard her lovely new album The Mechanics of Hovering Flight now is your time.  Preview all of the songs on our shop.  Its playing everywhere I go these days, and still I want to hear more.
