Ruby Fray’s Pith is up for pre-order!

Pith, the debut LP of Ruby Fray, is blowing up and we couldn’t be more excited about it.  The record, on both CD and LP, is up for pre-order this week.  When you pre-order, you ensure that you’ll receive digital bonus content (otherwise-unreleased audio and other goodies) when the album ships out on March 20th. Even more, you can download the single “Mint Ice Cream” (great barbecue music, if you ask me–and spring is right around the corner) for $.69.  That’s mere pocket change!  Check it out in the K Mail Order Dept.

New Tara Jane ONeil Single!

Tara Jane ONeil has a new single, “Sirena,” coming out in the International Pop Underground series of 7″ singles.  The A-side is her original composition that lends the disc its name, while the B-side is a cover of Kermit the Frog’s classic “Rainbow Connection,” draped in a thin blanket of reverb.  Stream the B-side cover from our Tumblr.

The Hive Dwellers & The Curious Mystery U.S. Tours!

The Curious Mystery and The Hive Dwellers are both heading out on tours at the end of March.  The Curious Mystery are going to making stops through SXSW, making their way up to New York City, where they have an artist residency at the Ace Hotel!  The Hive Dwellers will be playing all around the United States in support of their upcoming LP, Hewn From the Wilderness, due out on K on June 12th.  Their tours converge in April as they both travel through the eastern half of the country.  Find all of their tour dates on our shows page.

Have You Ever Had A Beard?

Have You Ever Had A Beard?, a short film based around a conversation between Calvin Johnson and music critic Chris Estey, has already shown in Seattle and Portland, and we’re stoked for it come to Olympia, when it will play on March 17th at the Olympia Film Society, followed by a performance from The Hive Dwellers.
